Raising money for The Princes Trust – Dan Iron Man update!

On 20th May I undertook the second event during my year of endurance challenges, a Half Ironman Triathlon at Grafman water bear Huntingdon.

The 1.2 mile swim in the lake was bitterly cold and I struggled to catch my breath and dropped back quite a wait meaning I had to navigate plenty of traffic as I finished strongly.

After the first transition it was out on the bike where I felt much more at home and the 55 miles flew past in quick time which put me on target to beat my 5 1/2 hour pre race target.

The half marathon run soon came around and the support of the crowd kept me going round even when my legs said the opposite and crossed the line in 5 hours 20 mins.

As I write this the clock is counting down to the next event, the full Ironman triathlon on the 8th July with plenty of training to squeeze into the gap. The continuing donations are keeping me motivated for early morning swimming sessions and late night runs – a huge thanks to all those who have donated and the link is at the bottom of the page for those who would like to make a generous donation.

All funds raised towards my £2,000 target are donated directly to the Prince’s Trust to enable them to continue to provide fantastic support for vulnerable young people and help them through school or find work.
