Hawks IronDan update!

Sunday 8th April saw the first event get underway, a 26.2 mile Marathon through the Suffolk countryside around the Bungay and Beccles area. The run started a little too well and found myself placed within the top 4 for the first 7 miles and finished the first lap within an hour and half. This is when things started to unravel. During mile 16 I experienced cramp setting into one of my feet and by mile 20 my legs had packed up completely and was slowed to a crawl. Despite the pain, I powered through to complete my first marathon 3 minutes within my target of 3 hours 30 minutes.

This was the biggest challenge I have attempted to date and were it not for the enthusiastic crowd, course Marshalls and the knowledge that this was raising fundamental money for charity, the constant drizzle could easily have put me off and slowed me to beyond 4 hours.

Now for your turn, I need YOU to help me by donating to the link below and getting closer to the target of £2700.

I would be grateful if anyone was able to spare a donation for the Princes Trust to help me hit my target to enable them to continue their great work with vulnerable children. https://mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/danchambers2

Thanks!

Dan
