Youths spreading their wings!
The HETHERSETT HAWKS sponsored by YELLOWBRICK MORTGAGES hosted Great Blakenham at the weekend in a tough Division 2 encounter that saw the visitors take control early on and maintain a strong lead throughout. Despite some solid efforts from the home side, the match had lots disruptions on a slippy track, with one race having to be re-run an four times. The Hawks struggled to find consistent momentum and Great Blakenham took advantage, racking up race wins and pulling ahead on points.

The Youth match was a much closer affair, even with the Hawks one rider short. Hethersett’s young stars put in a spirited and skillful display, riding with cool heads to win against a full strength Great Blakenham side. They were led well, listening and responding, cheering each other on and congratulating their performances.

One of the stand-out performances of the weekend came from Lola who rose to 1st place with maximum points in the B final of the BoB 15th Anniversary in Wednesfield on Saturday, rode in the Div 2 match on Sunday followed straight away by the Youth Match where she flew solo taking all race wins to ensure the Hawks didn’t drop too many points.
