Bringing the Spixworth track back to life!

On this beautiful, Spring-like day some of the teens (and a couple of slightly older Hawks) got together for a practice at the Spixworth Track, as the Hethersett track is still too wet for training. The track is overgrown, but they still managed to spend a few hours of useful training, getting their legs ready for the upcoming friendly against Coventry on Saturday.

Sadly, the Spixworth track has been out of action for a while, but is being restored in the hope of re-starting a Spixworth speedway club there. The East Anglian Individual Championships will be held at the track on 21st July, so there’s lots of work to do!

Track work is mainly being carried out on Saturdays, with some practice too, so if you fancy helping out on something very rewarding – bringing a much-loved speedway track back to life, get in touch, or just turn up and have a ride around!

If you would like to know more about the history of Spixworth Cycle Speedway there’s plenty of information on the internet.
